oh, october!

i can't believe it is already the 13th. the only thing i don't like about fall is that it comes and goes like lightening. why is it so quick? especially when winter is so long? oh well, october. here are three pretty things that shout out autumn beauty...at least, to me. from top to bottom: one of my favorite etsy shops iheartfink's "wonderful land belted tunic", "kay (brecciated jasper and brass necklace)" by cardinalhouse, and fiberstory's "tufts in rusted, hand spun yarn singles". goodnight! sleeptight. you know what to do about the bugs.

well, hello! goodmorning and happy friday. today i am posting a few images from one of my latest treasuries. on a chilly october morning, i am loving the darkness of each one of these images that feel so warm at the same time. in fact, i think the whole group has sort of a sophisticated halloween air about it. from the top to the bottom: amberalexandra's wonderful "groundhog hair", urban design's "the barn", mincingmockingbird's "in the beginning we called it love", alexandrafergusen's "be nice or leave felt applique pillow", and KFMGalley's painting "city". i am off to vermont this afternoon and hope to be back next week with some new work. i've got a few ideas percolating - hopefully they'll turn into something interesting. have a great weekend!

autumn light

teeny tiny paintings

the last few times i've been in working up in my studio in vermont, i have been painting on these itsy bitsy canvases. i haven't had much time up there in the past month and it is really the only place i seem to get any work done. since the canvases are so small, i feel like i can just dive in and paint the first thing that comes to mind - without any planning or thought. it's sort of fun to just see where the painting goes. here are two of several i recently listed in my shop: "new boots" and "goodmorning pumpkin". it's a cold, rainy day in boston...hope it is dry wherever you are.

coffee colored deliciousness

it is so chilly in my office/studio today, that i have been chain drinking (is that a saying?) tea and/or coffee all morning. which brings us to today's post, a collection of lovely things inspired by a large vanilla latte with cinnamon sprinkled on top. i don't actually have one of these right now, but oh, how i wish i did! you can find each one of these pretty things on etsy. from top to bottom:

a breezy gray fall friday

i just treated myself to a pumpkin spice latte WITH whipped cream! how incredibly decadent! it was so yummy. i just really love fall. there are so many colors! today's color scheme reminds me of gray days, trees that are still a little bit green but starting to turn, hot chocolate, and pumpkins. michele maule's print makes me think of the extra pleasure i get from coffee when there's a little bit of a chill in the air :). from top to bottom: "vintage suede lace shoes" at sophistikate, "dare to be different" by greatguppy, "ethnic olive post earrings" by rafya, "tower of yesterday" by urbandesign, and "i heart coffee" by michelemaule. happy friday!

the snuggly season
